Our Concord dentist believes that everyone should feel comfortable during their treatment. That’s why Brighter Day Dental recommends sedation dentistry for instances that involve:
Oral sedatives provide temporary amnesia so that most people never remember their dental procedure. Oral sedatives are ideal for longer or more complex treatment cases, such as oral surgeries, implants, root canals, or if you suffer from acute dental anxiety.
You’ll take one prescription pill the night before your visit, and another one an hour before your appointment. It’s important to have someone drive you to and from your appointment (we also prefer for them to stay with you for the rest of the day.) At the time of your treatment, we’ll give you just a little more medicine and you’ll feel like you’ve napped through the entire procedure. We complete your dental work over the course of a few hours, but to you, it may only seem like 15 minutes.
If you’ve never had nitrous oxide before, a good way to describe it is as a feeling what Dr. Dokko calls a “beer buzz.” Although you’re fully conscious, you’ll be relaxed and won’t mind what’s going on as much. But, it also wears off very quickly once we turn the sedative down, so that you’re safe to drive yourself home afterward.

At Brighter Day Dental, Dr. Dokko uses 3D x-ray equipment as opposed to two-dimensional x-rays when it comes to dental implant therapy. This is an extremely important step in deciding where implants are to be placed.
